Prison isn't full of just hardened criminals, like it's easy to believe. 3 inmates in a Gwinnett County, GA prison saved a guard's life when he was bleeding on the floor.

The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department shared an amazing story of heroism inside their prison. They wrote on Facebook, "We deeply appreciative to these three inmates for the courage, determination and kindness they displayed when they came to the rescue of our deputy."

It seems the deputy was having some serious medical issues, some inmates noticed and watched him as he did his rounds to check on them. As the guard returned to his stand, that's when they saw him pass out and crack his head open on the floor, according to prison official's reports.

The 3 Inmates pictured started making as much noise and banging as they could, and they enlisted many other inmates. It caused the fallen deputy to come to a little, that's when he released their cell doors and they ran to his aid. "The inmates sought help with the use of the deputy's desk phone and his radio. Their efforts were successful and help arrived almost immediately," the Sheriff's Department wrote on Facebook.

The deputy survived his injuries and the inmates are being hailed as heroes. The department credited the deputies respectful and dignified treatment of the inmates. They returned the respect in saving his life. "These inmates had no obligation whatsoever to render aid to a bleeding, vulnerable deputy, but they didn't hesitate," the Dept. wrote.

Kindness and compassion for other human beings is not scarce these days. Social media and some news outlets would like you to think and believe that we all are against each other, but if you take a step back and observe the real world, you will see the love and grace of mankind in action.
