TMSG: Boaters Rescue Moose Calf Submerged in Muddy Riverbank

A group of boaters from Alberta heard a mewing sound when they pulled their boat onto a sandbar in the Wapiti River. As Kane Savidan and his friends started to walk closer, they realized the sound was coming from a baby moose that was fully submerged into a muddy riverbank.

The group managed to pull the moose calf from the mud, then wash off the mud from its face so he could see. They believe the moose calf was around two weeks old. After calling a wildlife officer, they were instructed to leave the area as the mother was most likely nearby.

It's unknown what happened to the moose calf and whether or not it was reunited with the mother, but this group was very heroic in their attempt to help.
