Millennial Moms Share Gift Shopping & Wrapping Tips

Prepping for the holidays can be stressful, but plenty of Millennial moms have things well in hand. As of this year, in a trend that’s been increasing since 2016, 75-percent of the moms have shopped early for Christmas. That’s according to the National Retail Federation.

With numbers like that, “Good Morning America” asked three to explain how they do it. Stacey Kobeszko is all about organization. She uses an excel spreadsheet to list all the giftees and then what she buys them throughout the year. If she sees something that’s cool, she looks on the list to see who it would work for.

Jayne Piiemer takes an inventory of what her kids need at the end of summer, then she shops in September and still takes advantage of sales. That takes a keen eye, though. Everything is wrapped and ready by Halloween.

Kate-Madonna Hindes is fighting cancer and realized getting things done early helps her overall mental health. That’s why she buys year round. Her big tip is wrapping the gifts with packing tape so they stay in good shape. She also uses post it notes to put the giftee’s name on the package.

All three women agree it’s liberating to spread out the shopping throughout the year. The financial stress is gone too. Hindes even uses the time she saves for charity work.
